Malinovskyi district police station of Odessa
city held an “Open Door Day”. The event was attended by representatives of the
media and the public.
The head of district police department Maxym Boiko met the visitors and conducted an excursion in the

Then the guests wanted to visit the investigation division. Despite the day

of the investigators at that time was a foreign citizen whose vehicle was
stolen. Thanks to the correct conduct of preliminary investigation the vehicle
was returned to the rightful owner. The victim was satisfied and thanked the
District police inspectors were also busy. They had a visitor from Odessa city who reported a
conflict situation. The man was confident that the police will not remain
indifferent to his problem. Previously he contacted police on one other fact,
and the district inspectors gave him a qualified legal assistance.
In criminal investigation division detectives were ready to go out on
service at their area of responsibility to prevent looting and theft. Head of
the criminal investigation division instructed his subordinates giving to each
of them a designated route.
Next, representatives of the media and the public visited the
"heart" of police station – Duty Office, where they learned about the
principles of service of the duty officer and his assistant.
As it turns out, from the professionalism of these officers depends how
quickly police patrols and personnel will be notified of the one or the other
event. A skillfully coordinated action of duty office in 80% of cases is a
guarantee of successful solves the crime in hot pursuit.
The visitors looked not only at the modern premises of the duty office, but
also a comfortable rest room for daily duty team. The head of district police
department Maxym Boiko did
not forget to mention the fact that currently they conduct the renovation and
upgrade of detention cells. He said: "cells, which will contain the person
who committed an offense, must meet the new standards. It should have all
necessary conditions for the natural needs, access to hot and cold water, good
ventilation, natural and artificial lighting."
When asked whether the rights of citizens are violated or restricted by the
officers of Malinovskyi district police station, Maxim Boyko said:
- It is virtually impossible because a part of the office space is equipped
with video surveillance, and all actions of police officers are recorded. In
case of detection of facts of ill-treatment of citizens police officers are
brought to strict liability.
At the end of the meeting everyone came to a consensus that, as a whole, the
unit runs smoothly, office space meet the normal working conditions. And the
staff does their best to ensure that citizens who find themselves, for whatever
reason, Malinowski police station feel protected by law.
