One of them concerns failure of  Ostchem group to pay  UAH 5,7 billion to "Naftogaz" for the delivered gas, the second - loss by Ukraine of the case about 11 bln cubic meters of gas in the Stockholm court.  The Minister told this in an interview to the on-line news service "Ukrainian Pravda".

Arsen Avakov said that MIA is investigating two criminal proceedings against companies of Dmitry Firtash.  The main case was that the Ostchem group did not pay NAK "Naftogaz" UAH 5.7 billion for the delivered gas.  After the opening of criminal proceedings and beginning of investigation "the debtors have started intensive negotiations with the NAK "Naftogas".

"To date, the case is not closed but we have a settlement agreement between the NAK and the Ostchem group, the essence of which is that they will pay the full amount.  As they recognized the amount of the claim and pay everything, including penalties and fines for delay, it cancels all demands on our part" - said Arsen Avakov.

He also noted that currently about UAH 400 million had already been paid and by the end of the year the government may receive more than UAH three billion additionally.  Concerning the enterprises, which are located in the territory occupied by the militants, the agreement is reached to defer payments for a year.

The second case, according to the head of MIA, is more serious.  The Ukrainian state lost 11 billion cubic meters of gas as a result of the sudden change of the Ukrainian position in the Stockholm arbitration court.  Another 1.3 billion cubic meters were seized as compensation for interests.

MIA believes that such change of the Ukrainian position in the international court of arbitration was a malicious criminal act.  Thus, about six months ago MIA opened criminal proceedings. It includes also some materials received from the French law enforcers. Now investigative activities are under way within this criminal case.
