It was announced by
the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.
“Last week MIA initiated one more criminal proceedings
related to Firtash. This case is about abuse of
office by the staff of NAK “Neftegas-Ukraine” (National
Joint Stock Company “Naftogas of Ukraine”). We
suspect that former executives of NAK “Neftegas”
acted in collusion with executives and owners of “RosUkrEnergo”
and “Group DF” (owned mostly by D.Firtash). “Centragas Holding AG”,member
of “Group DF”, owns 50% of “RosUkrEnergo” and Russian
company “Gasprom” owns other 50%” – noted Minister
At the end of 2010 the Arbitration Institute of the
Stockholm Chamber of Commerce judged the dispute between “RosUkrEnergo”
and NAK “Neftegas-Ukraine” and ruled that NAK “Neftegas” must return to “RosUkrEnergo”
12.1 billions cubic metres
of gas in the Ukrainian underground gas storage.
“This anti-Ukrainian decision of the Arbitration Institute
of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce was possible only due to collusion of the
NAK “Neftegas” executives with Firtash
and Co. We assume that it was done at the direction of the leadership of the
Ukraine at that time. Then NAK executives sharply and unexpectedly changed
their position in the court and lost the dispute. It cost Ukraine billions and
billions!” – stated Minister of Internal Affairs.
According to Arsen Avakov Department of Criminal
investigation of MIA received new evidence related to this criminal collusion.
“We initiated criminal proceedings. Procedural
supervision will be in the hands of the General Prosecutor’s Office (GPU).
Jointly with GPU we manage investigation of this extremely important for
Ukraine criminal case. I believe that investigation of such large-scale abuses
must be in the center of public attention” – stressed head of MIA.
To remind: MIA have already informed about criminal
investigation against executives
(owner – Dmitry Firtash).
They are accused of causing losses to the State in the amount of UAH 5.742
