New patrol police will start to work in Kiev on July 4, 2015

It was announced by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.

“We have enormous amount of work ahead not to mention the vote in Parliament on second reading of the Law on National Policeon June 16-18. But despite multitude of problems and difficulties which we face our team works very persistently and we are optimistic” – stated the Minister.

Arsen Avakov noted that creation of the new police patrol service will start in Lutzkin the coming days.

The process of creation of the new police patrol service in Odessa, Lviv and Kharkivis entering its second phase, said Minister Avakov.

 

Below is presented statistics of recruitment staff to the new patrol police in these three cities as of June 2, 2015.

LVIV

All submitted questionnaires: 8601

Questionnaires which meet basic requirements: 7101

4004 applicants took test of general skills; successfully passed it: 3124

638 applicants took medical examination; successfully passed it: 523

829 applicants took physical fitness test; successfully passed it: 755

189 applicants are waiting to take test MMPI-2

Refused to participate further in selection process: 258.

ODESSA

All submitted questionnaires: 4031

Questionnaires which meet basic requirements: 3215

1786 applicants took test of general skills; successfully passed it: 1432

112 applicants took medical examination; successfully passed it: 49

Physical fitness test is scheduled for June 3

Refused to participate further in selection process: 209.

KHARKIV

All submitted questionnaires: 4347

Questionnaires which meet basic requirements: 3561 (preliminary figure because not all questionnaires are validated yet)

Test of general skills is scheduled for June 4

SUMMARY STATISTICS FOR ALL THREE CITIES:

Percentage of men: 72%

Percentage of applicants with university level education: 61.2%

Percentage of jobless applicants: 41.3%

Percentage of applicants who are acting policemen: 8.5%
